This wiki is mainly for technical information and documentation of how Minecraft functioned as of Beta 1.7.3. If you’re looking for more general gameplay info about Beta 1.7.3, such as crafting recipes, check out the Farlands Wiki and the archived Minecraft Wiki.
Objective
The goal of this wiki is to consolidate all knowledge on Minecrafts Legacy Protocols, specifically the way they were by Beta 1.7.3. This includes documenting both client and server behavior and communications, all while explaining it in such a way that anyone can make their own client or server with relative ease.
This includes documenting the inner workings of the World Generator, the McRegion format, etc.
This wiki is still a heavy wip. Some things may be missing, poorly explained or even wrong. Please let us know if you find something like this!
Contributing
Anyone can contribute to the Wiki! Either by digging through decompiled code or just trial and error. Anything goes to make this the most objective source of truth for Minecraft Beta!
